SPORTS
If your child is planning to participate in sports at the middle school, a physical examination is required of all student athletes as a condition of participating.
Two physical examinations are required during the years at the middle school. Incoming 5th grade students require a physical and may only participate in individual sports such as track, cross country running, nordic skiing and alpine skiing.
The second physical covers years 6,7 and 8.
Physical examinations MUST BE DONE AFTER April 30th to be accepted for fall sports. More information can be found below in the 'Sports Forms and Information' tab below.
Illness Protocols
When sick (fever 100.4 or higher, persistent or productive cough, vomiting, diarrhea), students should stay home and away from others until:
General cold symptoms are improving for 24 hours,
No fever for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications,
Student has not vomited for 48 hours.
If your child tests positive for COVID-19, the CDC guidance is to isolate until symptoms are improving for 24 hours, and your child has not had a fever for 24 hours (without the use of medication).
Depending upon the severity of symptoms, a school nurse may choose to send students home who exhibit significant symptoms of illness.
To prevent respiratory viruses like COVID-19, it is suggested that people stay up to date with vaccinations and practice good hygiene (hand-washing, cover mouth while coughing and sneezing, etc.).
