Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist

Year-round position, 40 hours per week, at Central Office

Reports to Superintendent and Business Administrator

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED - Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred

  • Experience in multi-fund government accounting or Tyler Technologies Pro-Fund software

  • Experience in processing payroll and related tax reporting, accounts payable and receivable

  • Competent with spreadsheets – Excel and/or Google Sheets

  • Able to work independently, adhere to deadlines, evaluate priorities, and maintain confidentiality.


Job Goal: The Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll and vendor payments, and recording cash receipts for the District in a timely and efficient manner.

This position requires a person with exceptional organizational skills, basic knowledge of computers,

excellent verbal and written communication skills, flexibility and ability to prioritize the changing

needs of the office. This person is responsible for confidential information and must instinctively

realize what is confidential. Basic secretarial duties include but are not limited to the following:

attendance, dismissal, substitutes, field trips, building use, student files, mail, general supplies,

phone/email communication and support of staff/families/faculty/administration/students.

Behavioral Specialist

Current licensure/certification from Behavior Analyst Certification Board as a licensed Board

Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Psychology

(030 Certification) or Special Education (079) may be considered based on experience within a school

setting, knowledge of behavior programming and ability to complete a Functional Behavior Assessment.

Bus Aide

Must either possess a valid school bus driver license from the State of Maine,

or be willing to go through training to be licensed, which the District will pay for.

Have current knowledge of bus safety rules and regulations. Have the ability to react to changes in a

productive manner. Implement assertive discipline while maintaining a positive relationship with students and parents.
