The ideal candidate will have an environmental science background and experience with place-based, experiential learning; have experience teaching the entire middle school span of NGSS using a flexible, holistic approach to learning and the willingness to teach outdoors in all weather conditions during the school year; be able to design and integrate PBL units of study; have the ability to integrate curricula into experiential settings with community partners and be comfortable connecting with and establishing new community partnerships. Director of the Western Maine Regional Program for Children With Exceptionalities (WMRPCE) grades 6-12

Oxford, Maine 

This is a regional program serving MSAD/RSU 17, MSAD/RSU 72, and RSU 44.

Applicants should have a Masters degree in Special Education or a related field, have experience working with students with challenging behaviors and autism, be knowledgeable of the Special Education processes and regulations, and be appropriately certified to supervise staff in such a program. Traits should also include excellent skills in the following areas: collaboration and communication, organization, job initiative, ability to think and act appropriately and quickly, and behavior regulation strategies. Successful candidates must hold Maine Administrator Certification and be able to supervise staff and students with special education services.  Preference will be given to those with administrative and supervisory experience.

Monday through Friday when school is in session. Morning route is from 6:00am - 7:45am. The afternoon route is from 1:45pm - 3:45pm. Wednesdays are the exception due to early dismissal - same morning time but the afternoon run begins at 12:15pm.
