Dear Parents and Guardians:
Earlier today, the Oxford County Health Advisory was updated to “yellow.” This designation is used for the following situation:
YELLOW: Categorization as “yellow” suggests that that the county has an elevated risk of COVID-19 spread and that schools may consider additional precautions and/or hybrid instructional models as a way to reduce the number of people in schools and classrooms at any one time.
Given that our district is already using smaller, stable cohorts of students and is enacting all of the recommended prevention measures, the designation does not in any way change our approach to educating students. The only major change would occur if our county was designated as “red,” which would require us to move to a fully remote distance-learning approach.
